After serving as a producer on films including Afterschool and Two Gates Of Sleep and directing three shorts, American director Andrew Renzi shot to the attention of critics at this year's Tribeca Film Festival with the premiere of Franny.

His feature debut - about a troubled philanthropist who meddles in the lives of newly-married couples - saw Renzi direct an impressive cast including Richard Gere, Dakota Fanning and Theo James, and following its premiere it was picked up for distribution in the US by MGM (a UK deal is yet to be determined). The 30 year old screenwriter and director, who studied Literary Arts at Brown University in Rhode Island, is now planning a number of new projects including a re-imagining of Billy Wilder's 1950 classic Sunset Boulevard.
